I wish you all a good day.
I just registered here as this forum seems to be my cup of tea.
I live in Flanders, Belgium. Sadly here keeping exotic mammals as pets is illegal.
Sadly also I do not have pets yet, but I intend to have a dog eventually. I just moved into a home of my own last August and my main project at the moment is painting. When that is done I will look into a pet, probably one from the local shelter.
In any case, my interest in animals is quite significant. Animal intelligence, behaviour, interaction and interaction with humans. In any case I'll be around to learn a few things.
Cheers!

Welcome. Feel free to ask questions. I had a professor once ask me about tamandua play behaviors. That was interesting for me too.

Welcome! What kind of painting do you do? Or were you talking about painting your new place?

Ah, just re-read your post.....
I personally think shelter animals make better pets, they just seem so grateful for saving them. Good luck!

Welcome. Do they consider everything except cats & dogs exotic? Are you living in the city or countryside? A lot of the animals the we consider exotic are just pets in other areas. This even from state to state in the U.S. so sometimes there is wiggle room. Anyway, happy to have you and I hope you enjoy us.

They are working with a list with animals considered 'unsuited' to be pets, like foxes, badgers or foreign animals like raccoons (which of course I disagree with).

Well hello!
I too live in Europe but not mainland. I live in England here where we can keep more or less anything if we can find it.
I love Belgium (no not just the chocolate...but that helps hehe).
I shall go back to my reading of the forum now.
Welcome!

It's odd that exotics are illegal because Herne Breeding Centre is in Belgium and they breed all kinds of exotics
Whoa Trefoil! That sounds kind of racy lol, kidding

What can I say. Some of us have to take our fun where we can get it.
