Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of someone keeping these as pets? I think those are the two most beautiful birds that ever lived.

Since nobody answered you, I'll just offer that I've seen toucans in sanctuaries in Costa Rica. I don't know if anybody owns them or quetzals privately, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are owners out there. Though, trafficking these birds may now be illegal... They are beautiful though. yes both are kept, I havent seen a quetzel available in years though. toucanettes and turocos are more common. I have seen all of the above at mt Hope and often from private breeders. Very expensive.
